  This article explores how Brazilian migrants in Japan use farming as a means to preserve their cultural identity while seeking integration into Japanese society. By cultivating culturally significant crops, Brazilian farmers maintain their traditional foodways, which serve as a connection to their homeland and a way to reinforce their sense of belonging in the host country. The article examines the challenges these migrants face, such as limited access to land and bureaucratic barriers, while highlighting their potential as contributors to Japan’s rural revitalization through food production and land stewardship.
